Our home base
Collision Auto Center is North York’s own body shop — owner-run, off Keele just south of Sheppard, minutes from the 401, Allen Road, and Yorkdale.
Why North York drivers make the trip
This is the page for our own neighbourhood. The shop sits a short walk from Sheppard West station, a few minutes from Yorkdale, Downsview Park, and the York University end of Keele. Most of the cars in our bays were damaged within a few kilometres of this corner — on the 401, on Allen Road, or in a plaza lot along Wilson or Sheppard. The owner writes your estimate, runs the claim with your insurance company, and answers the phone himself. Just had an accident? We take it from here.
Around North York: Yorkdale · Downsview Park · Sheppard West station · York University
Your insurance company can’t choose your shop — in Ontario that choice is always yours. Here’s how that works.
Our stretch of Keele carries a bit of everything North York produces: 401 commuters cutting up to the express lanes, delivery trucks serving the industrial units between Sheppard and Finch, students heading north to York University, and families running between Downsview Park and the plazas on Wilson. That mix is exactly why the shop is here. When a merge on the collector lanes goes wrong at Keele and the 401, or a spiral ramp at Yorkdale claims another bumper corner, the repair does not have to become a cross-city errand. It is already in the neighbourhood.
The damage we see is shaped by these few square kilometres. The 401 through North York moves more vehicles than any other stretch of road in North America, and its express–collector transfers produce a steady supply of rear-end hits and clipped quarter panels. Allen Road funnels everyone toward the same squeeze at Eglinton, so low-speed nose-to-tail taps are routine. Off the highways, it is parking: tight angled rows at the strip plazas, condo garage columns near the subway stations, and the narrow single-lane driveways of the postwar bungalows in Downsview and Bathurst Manor, where a moment of inattention drags a door skin along a fence post.
The owner is also the estimator, and that is the whole staffing chart for your claim. He looks at the car, writes the number, calls your insurance company, orders the parts, and tells you the truth about the timeline. You deal with a person, not a counter. Walk in and sort out an accident, a deductible, or an adjuster’s question face to face, without a phone tree in the way.
Ontario law is on your side here, and we make sure you know it: you choose your repair shop, full stop. An insurance company can recommend a preferred shop, but it cannot require one, and your policy covers proper repairs wherever you take the car. If you were not at fault, your own insurance company handles the vehicle damage under DCPD — we walk you through what that means before any paperwork starts. Where safety is involved we push for OEM parts and put that case to the adjuster ourselves.
Drop-offs here fold into ordinary routines. Hand over the keys on the way to the Sheppard West platform and take the subway downtown; we are open 8 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, and Sundays by appointment when the weekend is your only window. If a rental is part of your coverage, we time it to your drop-off so you are not stranded in our lot waiting on someone else’s schedule. If the car cannot drive at all — and after a real hit on the 401 it often should not — call (647) 594-3401 and we help arrange the tow. In Ontario, where the tow truck takes your vehicle is your decision, not the operator’s.

Reviews
The line we hear most: “I couldn’t tell where the damage had been.”
Honestly, I thought my car would never look the same again — but they completely proved me wrong. I couldn’t even tell where the damage had been repaired or repainted. The paint matched perfectly, and the bodywork was flawless.
My car was in an accident and the entire rear was damaged. They replaced the rear bumper and tailgate, and the paint job was perfect — matched flawlessly. The quality of work exceeded my expectations.
