Serving Newmarket · about 33 km from the shop
Newmarket sits a real distance from us — about 33 kilometres, almost all of it Highway 404 — so we build the repair around one trip: photos first, the claim opened before you drive, and the car started the day it lands.
Why Newmarket drivers make the trip
We will be straight about the geography: Newmarket has body shops of its own, and we are not around the corner from any of them. The cars that come to us from Davis Drive, Stonehaven, or Woodland Hill come for a different reason — an insurance claim someone wanted handled by the owner personally, a tow-in after a 404 collision that was heading south anyway, or a referral from a family member we fixed a car for in North York. Ontario law puts the shop choice entirely in your hands, wherever the adjuster suggests you go. Because the distance is real, we run Newmarket files deliberately: written estimate from your photos, supplement and adjuster handled from our office, rental through your coverage timed to the minute you hand over the keys. You make the 404 run once in each direction, and the owner does the rest in between.

Your insurance company can’t choose your shop — in Ontario that choice is always yours. Here’s how that works.
Nobody drives from Fairy Lake to North York for a scratch. The Newmarket work we see arrives three ways. First, the commuters: a huge share of the town rides the 404 south every weekday morning toward Markham, Richmond Hill, and the 401, and when a collision happens on that commute — often closer to our end of the highway than to theirs — the tow and the repair simply follow the direction the car was already going. Second, the claims: drivers who want one owner-estimator accountable for the whole insurance file, from the first photo to the final inspection, rather than a production manager they will never meet twice. Third, the referrals — a brother in Downsview, a co-worker in Vaughan, someone whose car we already fixed.
The trade-off is distance, so we take the distance out of the process wherever it can come out. The estimate happens from photos you text us, not from a trip. The claim gets opened, argued, and supplemented from our office off Keele just south of Sheppard. If the car cannot drive, it comes down on a flatbed you never have to follow. What is left for you is one drop-off and one pickup, and we schedule both around your 404 commute so neither costs you a separate day.
The town has a distinctive damage map. Davis Drive runs its Viva buses down a centre rapidway, which pushed general traffic into narrower lanes and moved every left turn to a signal — drift half a metre near Southlake or the GO crossing and you trade mirrors with the car beside you. Yonge around Upper Canada Mall adds the retail pattern: left turns across three lanes into mall entrances, rear-end taps at the Davis and Mulock lights, and door dings by the hundred in the mall rows. Main Street is the opposite problem — a narrow, historic street where on-street parking, Saturday market traffic, and delivery vans compress into two lanes, and bumper corners pay for it.
Then there is the season and the edge of town. Newmarket sits far enough north to catch more snow than Toronto proper, and the subdivisions from Summerhill to Copper Hills wake up to plow windrows across every driveway mouth — bumper lips and rocker panels lose that argument all winter. Salt does its slower work on stone chips the 404 supplies at 110 km/h. And past the last traffic light, on St. John’s Sideroad, Vivian Road, and the concessions toward Holland Landing, deer cross at dusk in October and November. A deer strike at rural speed is front-clip, hood, and windshield work — exactly the file you want torn down and measured before anyone commits to a number.
Start with three photos — a wide shot of the corner, a close-up of the damage, one of the whole car — texted to (647) 594-3401, and a written number comes back fast. If it becomes a claim, send the claim number with the photos and the owner opens the file with your insurance company before your car has moved a metre. Under DCPD, damage you did not cause is paid by your own insurance company, the shop is your choice by law, and we push for OEM parts anywhere the repair touches a safety system.
For the drop-off itself: Highway 404 south to the 401, the 401 west two interchanges to Keele, and we are just south of Sheppard — about 28 to 38 minutes outside of rush hour, and worth timing around it. If a rental is part of your coverage, we book it to your arrival so the swap is one stop. If the car cannot make the trip at all, Ontario’s towing rules mean you name the destination: tell the operator Collision Auto Center, North York, and call us; we coordinate from there. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 7 PM, Sundays by appointment.
Newmarket questions
Straight answers before you commit to anything — and a human on the phone when you want one.
Yes, if the process is built for it — ours is. The estimate comes from photos, the claim runs between our office and your insurance company, and the rental is booked to your drop-off, so the distance costs you two 404 runs and nothing else. Many of our Newmarket customers pass our exit every weekday anyway on the commute.
It can. Ontario’s towing rules put the destination in your hands, not the tow operator’s — name Collision Auto Center, off Keele just south of Sheppard in North York, and ask for an itemized invoice. Then call (647) 594-3401 and we take over the file, including the claim and the rental through your coverage.
No. In Ontario a preferred or DRP shop is only ever a recommendation — no insurance company can require you to use a particular shop, and your policy covers the repair here the same way. If you would rather have the owner write the estimate and run the claim personally, that is exactly the choice the law protects.

Reviews
The line we hear most: “I couldn’t tell where the damage had been.”
Honestly, I thought my car would never look the same again — but they completely proved me wrong. I couldn’t even tell where the damage had been repaired or repainted. The paint matched perfectly, and the bodywork was flawless.
My car was in an accident and the entire rear was damaged. They replaced the rear bumper and tailgate, and the paint job was perfect — matched flawlessly. The quality of work exceeded my expectations.
Very quality service and fair rates. The staff was professional, honest, and kept me updated throughout the whole process. My car looks brand new again.
Absolutely the best auto body shop I’ve ever used. The paint matched perfectly and the car looked brand new again. They handled everything smoothly and finished on time.
