Twelve hours a day in an open lot
Think about where Newtonbrook’s cars actually spend a summer weekday: rows of them in the park-and-ride around Finch station from morning until evening, more across the open acres at Centerpoint Mall, more in plaza lots along Yonge and in bungalow driveways where the garage surrendered to storage years ago. When a thunderstorm cell tracking across North York decides to drop hail, it finds this neighbourhood’s vehicles sitting outside, unattended, with nobody able to move them for hours.
GTA hail is an occasional visitor rather than an annual certainty, and the stones are usually modest — which is exactly why the damage gets underestimated. The first look often shows nothing; the next morning, low sun raking across the hood reveals a field of shallow dimples. Each one is a spot of stretched metal, and collectively they knock real money off the car’s value whether or not you ever intended to sell it.
The claim is simple; the documentation is everything
A hailstorm has no other driver, so no fault is assigned: the claim runs under the comprehensive section of your policy with your normal deductible. What separates a well-paid hail claim from a shortchanged one is documentation. We put the whole car under angled light and count strikes panel by panel — hood, roof, deck lid, the horizontal surfaces that took the worst of it, plus the subtler hits on shoulders and pillars that a quick walk-around misses. That map becomes the basis of the scope we agree with your insurance company, and the owner argues it with the adjuster directly.
Timing matters more with hail than with any other damage, because a storm fills every shop in the city on the same afternoon. Send photos to (647) 594-3401 the day it happens — even rough phone shots in the parking lot — and we sequence your claim and booking before the backlog forms. The car does not need to sit here waiting; it needs its place in line held, and photos do that.
- Comprehensive claim — your normal deductible, no fault on your record
- Every panel mapped under angled light before scope is agreed
- The owner deals with the adjuster; supplements filed if strikes were missed
- Same-day photo intake after a storm to hold your booking
Repairing a hailed car is a series of judgment calls
No two hailed panels get the same prescription. Shallow dimples in reachable metal are worked back to shape. Strikes that creased an edge, landed too densely, or cracked the paint push a panel toward refinish or, occasionally, replacement — a roof skin peppered corner to corner is sometimes better replaced than fought. Aluminum hoods, common on newer SUVs in these commuter lots, spring back differently than steel and get assessed on their own behaviour. Most cars leave with a mix of all three approaches, chosen panel by panel.
Wherever colour is applied, it is matched to your code, tuned against the car’s weathered finish, and blended so repaired and untouched panels read as one — all of it under the lifetime paint warranty. The shop runs Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 7 PM, Sundays by appointment, and the drop-off works the same way everything does in this neighbourhood: leave the car, catch the bus to Finch, and let us handle the rest.
