Maple paint lives outdoors, and it shows

Walk any crescent off McNaughton or Melville and count the cars on the driveways — the garages went to storage and gym equipment years ago. That means Maple paint takes everything the sky throws at it: full summer sun on dark metallic hoods, road salt mist all winter along Keele and Major Mackenzie, and sap and droppings under the maturing street trees the subdivisions were named for. By year eight or ten, the clear coat on horizontal panels has quietly lost its depth, and any repair panel sprayed straight to the factory code will stand out against it.

The north end of Maple adds a faster kind of wear. Construction traffic feeding the sites up toward Teston and Kirby drops gravel on every road it uses, and the sandblasted leading edge of a hood — hundreds of pinpoint chips, then rust freckles — is something we see from that side of town constantly. Caught early it is a refinish; ignored through two more winters it becomes body repair.

A match is made to your car, not to a chart

Late-model Maple driveways lean heavily on the hard colours: tri-coat pearl whites, deep metallic greys and blues, the occasional factory matte. Each of those varies by assembly plant and by years in the sun, which is why our process starts at your paint code but never ends there. The colour is mixed, sprayed on a test card, and checked against the actual panel under corrected light before the car itself sees the gun. Then the colour is blended into the adjacent panels so there is no hard edge for the eye to find — the difference between a repaint you can locate in the Costco lot and one you cannot.

The refinish itself happens in a controlled booth: proper masking, sealed prep, full cure. Cutting corners on prep is how repaints peel at the edges three winters later, and three winters of Keele Street salt is exactly the test a Maple repaint has to pass. Ours carries a lifetime warranty on paint and refinish work, in writing, for as long as the vehicle is yours.

One trip down, one trip back

Painting is scheduled work, which makes it easy to plan around a Maple commute. Send photos of the panel to (647) 594-3401 and the written estimate lands before you ever leave home. When the booking comes, drop the car on the way to work — several Maple customers hand over the keys, walk to the Barrie-line platform near us, and ride back north — and pick it up any evening before 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.

If the paint work is part of an insurance claim — vandalism scratches under comprehensive, a repaired panel after a collision — we handle that file the same way we handle repair claims: opened by us, supplemented by us, explained to you in plain terms. And if you are weighing whether a faded bumper or a keyed door is worth claiming at all, we will price it both ways so the deductible math is yours to see before you decide.

Good to know

Common questions

Straight answers before you commit to anything — and a human on the phone when you want one.

Can you match a pearl white or tri-coat finish exactly?

Yes — tri-coats are the finishes we test most carefully. The colour is built from your paint code, sprayed out on a card, compared to your car’s actual panels under corrected light, and blended into the neighbouring panels so the transition is invisible in direct sun.

My hood is covered in stone chips from the construction traffic near Teston. Repair or repaint?

Depends on depth. Chips that have not reached metal can often be addressed with a refinish of the hood’s leading edge; chips that have started rusting need the corrosion cut out first. Text us close-up photos and we will tell you honestly which side of the line your hood is on.

How long does a single-panel repaint take?

Usually two to four days including prep, spray, cure and reassembly — colour-dependent, since tri-coats need more spray-out time. We confirm the timeline in writing with the estimate, and evening pickup until 7 PM means the return trip up Keele fits after work.

What customers say

The line we hear most: “I couldn’t tell where the damage had been.”

★★★★★

Honestly, I thought my car would never look the same again — but they completely proved me wrong. I couldn’t even tell where the damage had been repaired or repainted. The paint matched perfectly, and the bodywork was flawless.
