Scrapes from the new Newtonbrook: ramps, pillars, P2
Every tower that goes up along Yonge between Finch and Steeles adds another underground garage, and underground garages are where a growing share of this neighbourhood’s paint work is born. The ramps turn tight, the pillars sit exactly at bumper height, and the parking stalls were dimensioned before mid-size SUVs became the default family car. The result is a distinctive kind of damage: a smear of parkade-pillar paint ground into a rear quarter, a door edge chipped against concrete, a front cover scraped on a ramp transition that is fine in summer and catches in winter when the suspension sits on cold, stiff springs.
The older housing stock contributes differently. Cars on the bungalow streets off Drewry and Cummer mostly live outdoors, and a teardown-and-rebuild boom means squeezing past construction bins and contractor mirrors week after week. A season of that leaves long, shallow scuffs that polish will not touch because they are through the clearcoat. Both kinds of damage end in the same place: a panel that needs proper refinishing, done so the repair cannot be found afterward.

Metallics and pearls get an extra check in direct light, because their flake shifts with viewing angle. Every refinish leaves under our lifetime paint warranty: if the work ever fails while you own the car, it is our problem to fix, not yours.

Whether to open a claim at all
A fair amount of Newtonbrook paint work should never see an insurance company, and we say so. A single scuffed door that prices near your deductible is a cash job; writing it up as a claim gains you nothing. The reverse is also true: a keying down the whole side, vandalism in a plaza lot, or garage damage from an identified driver deserves a proper claim, and we run those — comprehensive for vandalism with your normal deductible, or through the responsible driver’s side where one exists. You get both numbers before you decide anything.
The logistics stay light. Text photos of the panel to (647) 594-3401 for a written price, drop the car on your way to Finch station, and most single-panel refinish work is measured in days — largely booth and cure time. Doors are open 8 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, Sundays by appointment, and the estimate costs nothing either way.
